Confidence In
Control Showing confidence and being in control will likely not be completely possible your first few weeks. It will take time just to get comfortable with your new career and how to interact. But as quickly as possible you want to build up your level of confidence so that you can be relaxed, comfortable, and ready to take control in any situation. The importance of maintaining control is both to let your clients see they have made a wise choice in hiring a professional man as well as to ensure that if an uncomfortable situation arises where a client is requesting something that you consider out of bounds you can handle it smoothly. Ego While maintaining confidence, you never want to appear aloof or difficult. You also don't want to become an egotist who gives clients the impression they are lucky to be with you, spends time telling the client how good looking and intelligent he is. In fact, a good rule of thumb is to let the client do about 60-75% of the talking. And be a good listener! The more you pay attention to a clients thoughts and feelings the better they will like you. It will be easy to let clients affect your ego. You will find that some guys spend a lot of time dwelling on your attributes, and if you took everything they said to heart you would quickly believe you were an invincible god. There are times when clients tell escorts they are the best looking, most intelligent, and nicest guy on the planet. Learn to just graciously and genuinely thank them, but don't let it affect your ego. Conversely there are some twisted individuals out there who will spend their time telling you how awful you are. Here is a direct quote emailed to an escort from his web site "I can't believe anybody would ever pay to spend time with you never mind (shudder) have sex with you. You are the most aids infected looking rat faced scrawny guy I've ever seen." Even though you know it's not true, how would receiving that message make you feel? The important thing is to not react--that is what they want! In this case the escort didn't reply to the email at all. However the guy kept sending similar messages so finally the response was sent. One short sentence not even mentioning the content of the messages received, simply saying something like, "Your email is not wanted; do not write again." The guy at the other end immediately quit. He didn't get the reaction he wanted, and just as importantly when he did get a response there was nothing in it he could react to. When you do get nasty email do NOT react to it. You don't know but that the person at the other end is a psycho and you are just getting them mad. Who knows what they might do if you annoy them. Maintain an even balance and always be gracious, polite, and down-to-earth with clients. It will build you repeat business and give you more and bigger tips. More importantly, many clients do talk with their friends about escorts (whether they admit they hire them or not is another matter!). Word of mouth can make or break you faster than anyone can possibly imagine. So always act as if you have a harsh audience critiquing you. No doubt it will make you a very kind, considerate person. And there's nothing wrong with that! |
