Till You Think You're Gonna PukeMarket the hell out of your web site. There there are so many possibilities it's difficult to count them all. And the cool thing is that it is difficult to list them all. But we'll try! The cool thing is that many of them are either free or dirt cheap. On this page you will find the various methods of advertising listed with a brief overview of each. Since each demands more detailed attention they are discussed in the Advertising and the Online Promo sections of this site. Print Advertising The first thing you'll want to do is get an ad in the local newspaper. Two major options to look at: gay newspapers, and mainstream newspapers. The local gay newspaper is usually an excellent choice as shown by all the escorts already advertising there. But don't overlook the 'straight' market. Any escort whose been in business a while knows that the 'straight and narrow' is neither. There are a lot of gay guys in deep denial pretending they're straight and while they won't read the gay newspaper, they'll see an ad in the straight press. And even among those who aren't exactly 'gay', they aren't totally 'straight' either. Although they'd never admit it, they are bisexual and want to explore their gay side, which they'll describe to you as 'just curious', and never admit to their friends. Second, your image is less-than-professional and you won't attract many of the guys you really want. To pay for your 'free' site the server will have loaded it with advertising and pop-up windows. Pop-ups: the most hated feature of web pages. 2) get your own web site. You can do this through one of two methods. Either buy your own domain, such as www.yoursite.com, or rent space on someone else's domain, such as www.you.escortx.net. Make sure you read the Terms of Service of the web host you choose. Do they have anything about 'adult' or 'obscene' content in there that could leave you stranded. Check how long they've been in business. Ask about their service: how much down time do they experience? Are there good ways of contacting them for support? They'll only come if they know it is there! So you have to drive traffic to your site. This can be done through listings on gay search engines, making sure your site contains design features to get well placed in major search engines, joining webrings, getting listed on top-100 pages, providing the URL in all your print ads, and more. Don't be shy to dabble in all of these. The more, the better. Most of these can be done for free too. Talk It Up Other ways to promote yourself online are through use of chat rooms and instant messenger. Promoting your IM name through the web can bring guys to IM you.
